Now that you have your Microsoft account, the next step is to go to the Volume Licensing Service Centre and sign in.
Go to
https://www.microsoft.com/licensing/servicecenter
and click on the Sign In button.
When you click on the Sign In button you may be asked to "Sign in with your work account" or "Sign in with your Microsoft Account".
Always choose "Sign in with your Microsoft Account". This is because in Microsoft's eyes, you do not have what Microsoft mean by a "work account".
During the sign in process you will get an email from Microsoft that will look like this:
Congratulations on your newly accepted Open License with Microsoft, ending in xxx. You have been assigned Administrator permissions on the Microsoft Volume Licensing Service Center (VLSC) site. In order to access the VLSC site, you must first register and validate your business e-mail address, which was provided to Microsoft by TEKGIA. To begin registration, click the link below. When prompted, enter your business e-mail as shown below: VLSC Registration: https://www.microsoft.com/licensing/servicecenter/registration.aspx?e=[your email address] Business Email: [your email address] Type of new Licensing ID: OPEN How to activate your Online Services: |
Two things about this email:
(i) Ignore what it says about "How to activate your Online Services" because what it is talking about is cloud services. Your Microsoft Office is not an online service. It resides on your computer, not in the cloud.
(ii) You should click on the link it gives:
https://www.microsoft.com/licensing/servicecenter/registration.aspx?e=[your email address]
Clicking on the link will take you to your account in the Microsoft Volume Licensing Service Center website. You will find that there are 2 boxes for you to enter your business email address. Please use the same email address that is in the Microsoft email.
It does not matter if that particular email address happens to be your business email address or your personal email address. From Microsoft's point of view, it is your business email address.
If the Microsoft Volume Licensing Service Center does not accept your email address, or does not recognise your password, simply try again later. This is because the Microsoft Volume Licensing Service Center has not yet been updated with your information, so give it time to be updated.
By the way, the reason for using that email address is because Microsoft has associated it with your product keys. This means that if you use a different email address, you won't be able to access your product keys. So please don't try any other email addresses as you will end up wasting your time.
TIP If you are unable to sign in because you get caught in a loop, Microsoft recommends that you try again only this time, please use Microsoft Internet Explorer using its InPrivate mode.
Once you have signed in to the Microsoft Volume Licensing Service Center, please go to the Download and Keys page.
All the Microsoft products you bought from us are listed on this page. If you have bought a lot of them from us, they may go on to more pages. You can use the arrows at the bottom of the page to move from one page to another.
The next step is to get your product key.
NOTE: If you find that the information on your Office 2019 Standard is not there, please try again after a few hours as sometimes the Microsoft Volume Licensing Service Center website is slow in being updated. If you try to force it by entering your licensing information, not only are you likely to end up frustrated but also, because the site's security system does not recognise you, you may get kicked out of the site for 24 hours. |
We will use Microsoft Office 2019 Standard to illustrate the steps to take. If you need to get the MAK product key for Microsoft Office 2019 Professional Plus, for example, the steps are pretty much the same.
Scroll down the list of your products to Office Standard 2019.
To the right you should see the Key link. Please click on it. You may then see something like this:
Please ignore the Office Online Server 64 Bit Setup key. It has nothing to do with the MAK product key for Microsoft Office 2019 Standard.
Underneath the Office Online Server 64 Bit Setup key, you should see Office 2019 Standard 2019. If you don't see any product keys below Office 2019 Standard 2019, please click on the minus sign next to Office 2019 Standard 2019. You will then see the MAK product key for your Microsoft Office 2019 Standard.
Please copy the MAK product key for your Microsoft Office 2019 Standard so that you can use it to activate your Microsoft Office 2019 Standard.
TIP You can copy the MAK product key by selecting it with your mouse and then clicking on the Ctrl key and the C key on your keyboard at the same time.
To paste your MAK product key, simply click your mouse on the location you want to paste your MAK product key. This will bring that location into focus. Then click on the Ctrl key and the V key on your keyboard at the same time.
